O'Reilly, Letterman high-five over Iraq war talk

CBS

David Letterman and Bill O'Reilly bond on "Late Show."

"Late Show" host David Letterman and "The O'Reilly Factor's" Bill O'Reilly rarely find common ground during their televised talks, but?on Thursday night, the two managed to agree about one thing. They both believe the war in Iraq was a mistake.

After explaining that former vice president Dick Cheney has repeatedly refused to be on his show, O'Reilly shifted gears and discussed his take on the war.?

"I think that was something that should not have happened, in hindsight," he told Letterman. "But I will say that I supported it going in, and I think we discussed this on your program way back when, because all of the reportage was that Saddam Hussein did have these weapons and the weapons could be easily handed off. Turned out that was not (the case.)"

At that that point Letterman, in full agreement, raised his hand for a high-five. O?Reilly resisted.

?Up high, here we go,? the late night host then said with his arm in the air. "C?mon, c?mon, get up here. C?mon, Billy!?

?I?m not high-fiving you on a war," O'Reilly shot back. "Sorry. ... We?re having a good conversation. Sit down.?

But with the ?Late Show? crowd grumbling and Letterman refusing to give up, O?Reilly finally stood up and delivered.

Satified, Letterman sat back down and took a jab at his reluctant high-fiver.

?Wow! No wonder Cheney won?t come on your show, Mr. Grouch,"?he joked.

Should O?Reilly have stood his ground and refused to high-five over the war talk, or was his initial reluctance out of line? Share your thoughts on our Facebook page.??
