SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) ? President Obama is reportedly coming back to the Bay Area July 23rd for more fundraising ahead of the November election.
The president raised $2 million during his last trip to the Bay Area on June 6th.
While these summertime visits will be good for the president?s campaign coffers, it remains to be seen if they or the recent Supreme Court decision upholding Obama?s health-care reform law have much of an effect on voters as they head to the polls in about four months.
?On politics in particular, most people don?t pay attention to policy and politics most of the time,? said Andrew Smith, University of New Hampshire Associate Professor of Political Science.

He said the central issue of this election likely will be the economy, and for the last 30 to 50 years, a poor economy or the perception of a poor economy has been bad news for an incumbent seeking re-election.
?The president has lost the elections when the campaign is focused on the economy. That was true with Ronald Reagan defeating Jimmy Carter in 1980, it was true with Bill Clinton defeating George H.W. Bush in 1992,? Smith said.
A CNN poll released this week shows President Obama leading Republican challenger Mitt Romney by three percentage points among registered voters nationally.
